In Your Eyes
As I look, I see and stare.
Go by the book? With an empty glare.
Are we carers? No I say,
But parents in a caring way.
We all have a sparkle in our eyes,
And will never wear a disguise.
By this day you should know,
That we do not just go by the flow,
But instead we plan in our own style,
To make sure that you always smile.
Anything we do is for you,
Making salad, salmon, or stew,
Still all for you,
Just so you know,
That we love you.
The above poem was written by J, age 15, while on work experience with Diverse Care. He wanted to share a new poem with you all, written from the perspective of a Foster Parent. J has already had two of his poems published and has a very bright future ahead of him.
