 What A Year

It’s normally around this time of year that most people get both reflective of the last 12 months and excited by the prospect of a new year and a fresh start.

But by the end of every year at Diverse Care we are always left feeling a little overwhelmed; by the amount of compassion and dedication given by those who choose to share their lives with children who are not their own, and by the work of those at Diverse Care that help make it all happen.

We started 2014 with a new Ofsted rating and a newly found confidence. We were ready to challenge all and not afraid to speak our mind.

We kicked off the year with a colourful Easter fun day, followed by a cracking summer carnival; a huge recruitment campaign, welcoming in new families and staff; working on exciting projects with Local Authorities in the autumn; and to top it all off, a magical evening at Leeds Castle for Christmas.

We don’t want to throw away 2014 and start again. We want to carry on, channeling our stunning work and make 2015 an even more incredible year.   - Jim

Thank you to those who are not part of the day-to-day life of Diverse Care but helped make 2014 the year that it was, in particular:

Matthew and John Street

Christina “Cookie” Doyle

Havering Mayor, Linda Trew

Samantha Watson

Joan Welsford

William Lyst

Of course we cannot end this blog post without a special dedication to all of our Foster Parents - you truly make Diverse Care unlike any other fostering organisation, so a heartfelt thank you to you all.
